Building Performance Contractors Association

Performance Testing of Low-Rise Multi-Family Building EnvelopeS

Instructor: Bob Kahabka
June 4-5, 2012
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m.
Workshop:  8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. -

BPI Recognized Training

This training is one in a series designed for building analysts, Energy Star partners and material installers tasked with correcting energy, safety and structural anomalies of multi-family buildings. The differences in multifamily building codes, system designs, and occupancy configurations are such that skill sets built around the single family performance program and the smaller low rise multi-family buildings may not always be the best approach for larger low rise and mid-rise multi-family buildings;  i.e., envelope testing, ventilation requirements, and insulation techniques.  These trainings will focus on achieving technical accuracy in establishing goals, performance testing, codes compliance, and (systems) performance evaluations for larger, multi-family buildings.

The training will include:

Bob Grindrod, from CSG, will present the NYESH Program to attendants, reviewing the Low Rise Application  Process, NYESH Minimum Performance Standards, gut rehabs, and will answer any questions regarding the Program and technical requirements.

Things to bring to the training:

  • Notebook, pens
  • Calculator
  • Blower Door
  • Laptop
  • Typical safety equipment:
       Hard hat
       Work boots
